The Friends of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and Memorial are excited to announce they have been awarded the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation Public Amenities and Events Grant.  This program will help the Friends of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and Memorial to add amenities and host public events at the park. To be eligible for grant support, our volunteers must be actively involved in caring for natural habitat at Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and Memorial.

     This grant will provide up to $5,000 for amenities that enhance visitor use and enjoyment and promote volunteer well-being and happiness.  Our plan is to purchase 8 benches to be placed throughout the park this coming spring.

     This grant also will provide support to partially reimburse the costs of hosting public events in the park during the 18-month grant period. Events will be designed to increase community involvement and support of the habitat. Funding for events is capped at $500 per site.
