One of the Friends' goals is to raise public awareness of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and Memorial and the significance of the site in Lincoln’s life on the Sangamon River.  This is accomplished by presenting entertaining and educational programs every year in the park, offering special speakers discussing Abraham Lincoln, public outreach at community events and providing speakers to speak at different organizations to share information about the park.
